How to Follow a Subreddit Without the Reddit App
Follow public subreddits in NewsNinja, watch videos, open links, browse images and galleries, and read comments alongside your other sources.

You can keep up with supported public subreddits in NewsNinja without installing the Reddit app. Posts appear in your feed collection alongside websites, videos, podcasts, and other sources.
Add a subreddit
- Open Feeds → + to open Add Source.
- Choose Reddit and enter a subreddit URL or r/subreddit.
- Review the source preview.
- Choose a category and whether to Show in Home, then save.
You can also search Discover for a subreddit, open its preview, and tap Add.
Open the subreddit in Feeds to read its posts. Use available Reddit sorting choices such as Hot, New, or Top, and open a post to read available comments. A category can combine subreddits with RSS publications, YouTube channels, and podcasts.
Watch videos, open links, and browse images and galleries
NewsNinja supports more than text posts. Open a post to view its content and follow the discussion in the same place:
- Videos: Watch video posts with playback controls directly in NewsNinja.
- Links: View the shared link preview and open the linked page.
- Images: View image posts and read the comments beneath them.
- Galleries: Browse multiple images in a gallery post.
Read subreddits on iPad
On iPad, the larger layout gives your sources, subreddit posts, and the selected discussion room side by side. You can browse the post list while keeping a post and its comments open.

Reddit access and the future of RSS
Following a subreddit in NewsNinja organizes your reading locally; it doesn’t subscribe your Reddit account or provide voting and posting. Access depends on Reddit and the community: private, restricted, or login-gated content may not be available through public access.
Reddit is changing how feed readers can access its content. Read Reddit is ending RSS feeds: what it means for NewsNinja for the announcement, how NewsNinja accesses Reddit, and what could change for subreddit support.
